These rules are something of a paradox. So few men follow them, that I believe many women are thrown off by the unfamiliarity of the situation, when they are with a man who behaves properly. You were lucky that it only took you 30 mins. I got bounced around through the phone trees of four different departments, before finally having my call taken up by the DSL billing dept.
